RUSSELLVILLE — Franklin County Community Education Director
Susan Hargett announced today that FCCE is sponsoring its first annual “Winterfest” Beauty
Pageant and Talent Contest to be held on Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. at the
A.W. Todd Center.
The Beauty Pageant is open to girls 0-14 years of age and to boys
0-4 years of age. The talent contest is open to anyone 4-14 years
of age.
“Participants can be in both the Beauty Pageant and the talent
contest,” said Hargett.
Entries will be received on the day of Winterfest starting at 9
a.m.
The highlight of Winterfest will be the appearance of Tonya
S. Holly,
a nationally-known producer and director. Holly will be at the event
to scout for her upcoming film, “When I Find The Ocean,” starring
Louis Gossett Jr. (An Officer And A Gentleman), Naomi
Judd (The Judds),
and Richard Tyson (Kindergarten Cop).
The Cypress Moon Production is scheduled to begin shooting as early
as April of this year in rural Alabama.
Holly’s award-winning film, “The Mirror,” will
be shown at Winterfest following a short intermission at 1 p.m.
“The general public, with a paid admission ticket to Winterfest,
and each contestant may submit a headshot and resume to Holly for
consideration in her future productions,” said Holly.
“Since the lead roles are already set, we are looking for
walk-ons, extras and one-liners.”
A photographer and videographer will be available if you wish to
buy pictures or videos.
For an application or more information call Community Education
at (256) 331-0005.
All proceeds from Winterfest 2004 will benefit the Franklin County
